What's New in FitKeep

August 2026

Connect FitKeep to Your AI Assistant (MCP)

  • FitKeep now has a built-in MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, so you can connect Claude or another MCP-compatible AI assistant directly to your FitKeep data
  • Ask your assistant about your activities, best efforts, and goals in plain English, or have it pull a written summary of a specific activity — access is read-only and scoped to your own account
  • Any FitKeep account can connect for free — see Connect an AI Assistant with MCP to get started

Best Efforts Grouped by Sport

  • The Best Efforts page now buckets your activities into sport groups (foot, bike, swim, winter, other) so a fast bike split no longer dominates every distance next to your running efforts
  • “All activities” is still available as an explicit choice, and the dashboard’s best-effort cards now show which sport each PR came from

Garmin Activity Types, Split and Refined

  • Garmin activity types are now split into a primary sport and sub-sport (for example, “Running” and “Trail Running”), giving more precise filtering across activities synced from Garmin
  • Activities generated with AI assistance now show a small icon in the activity list

June 2026

Duplicate Activity Detection

  • FitKeep now spots activities that slipped past the usual deduplication check — if two uploads share the same start time, they are flagged on a new Settings › Data review page
  • Compare the activities side by side and delete the copy you do not need
  • Inspect an on-demand raw diff between two FIT files to see exactly what differs

Help Center

  • A new help center is available with step-by-step guides on activity details, best efforts, Garmin sync, goals, heart rate zones, and your data

Activity Editing

  • Edit an activity’s name and type directly from the activity detail page using the pencil icon next to the title
  • Best-effort distance links now take you straight to the corresponding best efforts page

Faster Activity Charts

  • Activity charts now load noticeably faster for long outings — a multi-hour trail run with tens of thousands of GPS points that previously froze the page for several seconds now renders immediately

Step Length Chart

  • Running activities now include a step length chart alongside pace, cadence, heart rate, and elevation

Goal History & Date Filtering

  • Goal detail pages now show a recurring history chart so you can see how many weeks or months you have hit your target in a row
  • The best efforts page now has a date range filter so you can compare efforts within any time window

May 2026

Richer Activity Details

  • New pace profile chart shows how your speed changed throughout the activity
  • Hide standstills to focus on moving time, with stats that match what you actually ran
  • The map now stays in view as you scroll on desktop, and a full-screen map is a tap away on mobile
  • Click or hover a lap to highlight that segment across every chart and on the map
  • Heart rate, pace, and elevation charts now share selections, so zooming into a section lines everything up
  • A new navigator strip lets you brush across the activity to drill into any range

Your New Dashboard

  • Your dashboard now opens with a 7-day activity chart so you can see how this week compares to last week
  • Lifetime stats front and centre: total activities, time in motion, elevation climbed, and your longest effort
  • New to FitKeep? A quick checklist guides you through connecting a device or uploading your first file
  • Personal records and ranking badges now surface right on the dashboard
  • The homepage has been refreshed with a clearer feature overview, a how-it-works guide, and a privacy section

April 2026

Rankings, Badges & Goal Tracking

  • Every activity now tells you how it ranks against your own history. Top 10%? A new PR? You’ll know
  • Earn badges for hitting milestones and setting personal records
  • Set personal goals and track your progress from the dashboard
  • Pacing insights show whether you’re on track mid-effort

March 2026

Customization

  • Customize your activity list to show exactly the columns that matter to you
  • Set your max heart rate once and get personalized heart rate zones across all your activities. Zone 5 is now uncapped
  • Not sure what your max heart rate is? A tooltip suggests a starting point based on your age
  • AI analysis is more reliable with fewer timeouts and better answers

February 2026

New Login Option & Faster Garmin Sync

  • Sign in with email and password, no Google account required
  • Garmin sync is faster: connecting now pulls the last 30 days of activities rather than your full history

January 2026

Heart Rate Zones, Trail Charts & Best Effort Deep-Dives

  • Heart rate zones now break down on every activity so you can see exactly how much time you spent in each zone
  • A new elevation chart syncs with the map as you hover, perfect for trail runs and hikes
  • GPS and elevation data is now smoother, with noisy spikes filtered out for cleaner charts
  • Tap any best effort distance to open a dedicated page with your full history and progress for that distance
  • Connect your Garmin account and FitKeep syncs activities automatically, no manual uploads needed

Easier Uploads & Mobile Support

  • Drag and drop FIT files directly onto the upload page
  • Upload a ZIP archive to import multiple activities at once
  • Activity list now shows a map thumbnail for each route at a glance
  • FitKeep is now mobile-friendly and the layout adapts for phones and tablets

  • New logo and a refreshed visual design across the app
